Frame Member Data - Flanges and Plates

The
Flange and Plates screen is used to define Flanges and Plate Sizes and
adjustments for each member.
Flange
and Bolting Plate List:
List
is used to edit information in the drop down lists and edit boxes for Flanges
and Plates.
Rev
This field will be blank if not revised, and
will say “Yes” if a user has changed the plate.
Type
This field shows the element that can be
modified in the list.
Mark
Number
Base Plate, Knee
Plate, and Bolting Plate Mark Numbers.

How to use:
Selecting
standard plates from the drop list uses sample plate sizes, revise the Mark
Number as required.
Adjust
1
Bolting Plates - the Adjust 1 is the
dimension the plate extends past the Flange Outside.
Flanges - can be adjusted to extend past the
end of the member or be shortened.

How to use:
Example 1 - Extend an FO at the
eave to the Eave Purlin attachment.
Example 2 - Shorten an FO for an
At-Eave Canopy Cut-in Plate.
Adjust

Bolting Plates (Read only) - this dimension
is calculate (Depth of Member minus Plate Length minus
Adjust 1).
Flanges (Active) - can be adjusted to extend
past the end of the member or be shortened.
Thickness
Bolting Plates (Active) - Defines the
thickness of the Plates. Revisions to Plate Thickness will automatically update
the Standard Part Numbers.
Flange Outside & Flange Inside (Read only)
Flange Special
(Active) - Thickness typically match the FO thickness. The FS can only be
revised in this list to be a different thickness than the FO.
Length
Bolting Plates (Active) - Defines the Length
of the Plates. Revisions to Plate Length will automatically update the Standard
Part Numbers.
Flanges (Read only)
Width
Bolting Plates (Active) - Defines the Width
of the Plates. Revisions to Plate Width will automatically update the Standard
Part Numbers.

Plate
Information:
Display
This
graphically shows how the plate is located on the frame member.
Hole/Slot
Size, Pitch, Gage, Edge Out, and Edge In (Read only)
This
information defines the bolting plate parameters for reference.
Moment
Capacity (Read only)
Defines
the Moment Capacity of the plate at the Out (Flange Outside) and the In (Flange
Inside) for the selected plate.
