Crane - Runway Locations

The
Crane Runway Location dialog defines the location of each crane in a shape.
The cranes should be
located along the same wall that the frames are located along or the opposite
wall, the crane runway should run perpendicular to the primary framing.
Notes:
Crane brackets will not be located
on end posts.
Options:
The
Crane name is the name of the Crane inserted that was created in the Crane
Schedule.
Types:
Under hung Cranes:
Flexible
Suspension – Hangers are used for reactions less than 40 kips (not including impact).
Rigid
Suspension – Brackets are used for reactions less than 40 kips (not including impact).
Top Running
Cranes:
Brackets are used for reactions less
than 55 kips (including impact). There are three standard crane column brackets
for 25, 40, and 55 kip reactions.
Stepped
Columns (Fixed Base or Pinned Base) for reactions greater than 55 kips (including
impact). The stepped column is used for reactions greater than 55 kip and when
a separate crane support column would be uneconomical.
Auxiliary
Column for
reactions greater than 55 kips (including impact).
Crane Bracket
Shape is only
available as a for Hot Rolled shape.
Start Frame is the frame on the left of
the wall you choose to locate the crane on where the crane will start.
Start Adjust. Is the dimension to the left
of the Start frame the crane will go past the center line of the frame.
End Frame is the frame on the right
side of the wall you choose to locate the crane on where the crane will end.
End
Adjustments: The dimension that the crane runway extends past the
centerline of the Start Frame or End Frame.
Notes:
An interior adjustment 1/8” between each interior frame is used, 1/4”
between each beam.
Aisles: The Aisles are counted
along the Start Frame line, based on the number of interior columns that are on
the Start Frame line. End posts and turned interior columns are ignored when defining
the aisle since they cannot support crane brackets.
Use Soldier Col.
Support: If this checkbox is used, then the system will
generate crane brackets and loads on the soldier columns, if not checked it
will skip them.
This
button adds a row(s) of data into the list.
This
button removes a row(s) of data into the list.
