Bracing - Design (Diagonal & Portal Frames)

The Bracing Design tab is used modifying the standard design checks that the system generated.

Tension and Compression:

Load Case

This is used to select the design data generated for that loat case.

List

This list displays the system calculated and user modified bracing.

Override:

Axial Force

Maximum generated Axial Force by system or enter a user applied value.

Axial Force - Hold

Maximum generated Axial Force by system or enter a user applied value to hold.

Moment

Generated moment by system or enter a user applied value.

Moment - Hold

Generated Moment by system or enter a user applied value to hold.

Shear

Generated shear by system or enter a user applied value.

Shear - Hold

Generated Shear by system or enter a user applied value to hold.

Fy

This is the minimum Yield stress value for steel.

Fu

This is the tensile Stress value for steel.

E (Modulus of Elasticity)

This is the standard value for steel.

Shear Modulus

This is the standard value for steel.

K Factor

Effective length factor used in calculating Allowable axial load.
