Bracing - Portal Braces

The Bracing Portal Screen is used to edit standard dimensions for a bay or entire wall of Portal braces.

Wall Detail

Dimensions:

Dimension A & D

Nominal Vertical Dimension for the Angles from the bottom of the Clip on the Column to the Bottom of the Portal Beam.

Refer to pictures above for locations.

Dimension B & C

Nominal Horizontal Dimension for the Angles from the Center Line of the Main Column to the Center Line of the Angle intersection with the Portal Beam Flange Inside.

Refer to pictures above for locations.

Left / Right Angle

Defines the input and loading parameters using the Bracing - Diagonal - Description and Bracing - Design screens.

Lower Beam into Haunch

This option moves the beam out of the Purlin Line, down into the haunch area.

Bolting Plate

This option moves the beam out of the Purlin Line, down into the haunch area.

Portal Beam Connection to the Haunch is Bolting Plates.

Knife Plate

This option moves the beam out of the Purlin Line, down into the haunch area.

Portal Beam Connection to the Haunch is Knife Plates (clips).

FS Offset

This dimension is the distance from the Flange Special to the Top of the Portal Beam.
