Accessories – Non Thermal Windows

This lesson describes some common conditions and detailing procedures for Windows.

1. Building Editor.

·          All available standard Windows can be added through the Accessories screen.

 

2. Window Fins.

·          Each VR Window requires an additional pair of Window Fins. PR Windows require Fins, but they are packaged with the window as a standard.

·          Do not use PR or VR Window Fins with Framed Openings, SPR Straight Fins.

·          The field located windows must be located on high rib modules, per the installation instructions. So the fins will work properly.

3. Window Framed Openings (Optional).

·          Use Framed Openings when the Window cuts a through a Girt Line or with Liner Panel.

·          For the Header to Sill dimension, add 1/4” to nominal opening height.

·          Erection sequence:
1. Framed Opening.
2. Door Flashing.
3. Window (from outside).
4. Panel / Insulation.
5. Window Exterior Jamb Trim.

 

 

4. Window Fins at Framed Openings.

·          Straight Fins, do not use PR or VR fins with Framed Openings.

·          For the Jamb to Jamb dimension, subtract 2” to nominal opening width.
