Framed Opening - Description
(Revised: 04/11/2024)
The Framed Opening Description tab is used to
define the Actual clear opening size of Framed Openings in the schedule.
A
Framed Opening must be inserted into the schedule in order
for it to be available for locating on a building.
Each
Framed Opening will require a unique name that will be used to identify each
Framed Opening on the Locations Screen.
Example:
10 x 12 OH (for 10-foot wide x 12-foot high overhead
door framed opening).
If
a Framed Opening's name or any other parameters are revised after the Framed
Opening has been located on your Building, the changes will automatically be
reflected in the Framed Opening Locations Screen.
When
a Framed Opening located on the building is selected in the Schedule all
locations will highlight in the graphic pane.
Options:
Name
Enter

This
name will be used to identify this Framed Opening on the Locations screen.
Width
Enter
the Clear width of the Framed Opening.
Height
Enter
the Clear height of the Framed Opening, measured from the floor or sill height
(Not the base of the jamb for Windows)
Sill

the Actual sill height of the Framed Opening.
On the walls: The sill height is measured
from the floor.
On the roofs: The sill height is measured
along and down slope from the ridgeline or high side eave. The sill is the
secondary member closest to the ridge or high side eave.
How to use (for
varying Sill Heights):
For Framed Openings that have the same
height, width, and options but will require multiple sill heights, Insert one
of the Framed Openings into the schedule with the most common sill height.
When inserting the Framed Openings on
the Framed Opening Locations Screen, there is a Sill Height Override option
that can redefine the sill dimension on any Framed Opening.
