Leadership Develpoment Institute (LDI)

Explores leadership theory, behavior and development and is offered in three levels:

Level One: Interaction between employees and their supervisors or team leaders has a profound influence on production and morale.  Additionally, “grass-roots” leadership among informal leaders and individual contributors who set the example also influences productivity and morale.  Level One is intended to address the major competencies required for the success of a new supervisor or team leader as well as develop at levels that extend deeper into the organization than the intent of the original LDI program.

Level Two:  Developing managers for bench strength and the long-term viability of VP Buildings is critical and an understanding and practice of the skills required to effectively lead work groups and departments is critical to the success of the individual and the organization.  Level two is aimed at furthering the growth and potential of supervisors, team leaders, and mid-level managers with an eye to the future.

Level Three:  The content of Level three is strategic in nature.  At this level, senior management will be involved in systems thinking and making the vision a working document.  Some longer-term involvement with teams will be required prior to and following the formal seminar setting.

The development process includes the use of goal setting, a program of personal development, between workshop assignments, presentations, and group projects.

Achieving Your Leadership Potential

This course bridges the widening gap between what is needed and required of today’s leaders. A three-step process—diagnose, plan, and execute—helps learners stretch their capabilities and accelerate their leadership development.

Do you face any of these issues?

  • Do your leaders treat development of their leadership skills as something to do “if time permits?”
  • Do they search out job experiences or issues facing their business units that stretch their leadership capabilities?
  • Can they link their personal development to the organization’s growth and success?

Adaptive Leadership

Adaptive Leadership raises leaders’ awareness of the differences among people and situations. It teaches leaders how to tailor their approaches based on their team members’ motivations, personality styles, the organizational environment, and the situation. By better meeting the needs of each individual, leaders create higher levels of engagement and organizational results.

Do you face any of these issues?

  • Do your leaders misjudge how people will respond or react in certain situations, resulting in negative outcomes?
  • Are leaders unable to tailor their approach with each person and situation to achieve the desired results?

Rapid Decision Making

This course helps leaders accelerate the decision-making process, yet still make quality decisions in fast-paced environments with limited time and information. They also learn how to determine when it is appropriate to use this approach and when to slow down the process and apply a more traditional, analytical approach.

Do you face any of these issues?

  • Do leaders approach every decision in the same way, regardless of the time, risk, and resources involved?
  • Do your leaders struggle to make quality decisions when pressed for time?
  • Do business opportunities slip away because leaders don’t make timely decisions?

Coaching For Success

This course develops leaders who coach for success—helping people achieve goals and avoid problems—a positive experience for leaders and those being coached. Leaders learn a proven coaching process to ensure they identify coaching opportunities, provide needed coaching and support, observe performance, and measure results until desired outcomes are achieved. Leaders learn how coaching for success benefits individuals, strengthens work groups, and supports company objectives and priorities.

Do you face any of these issues?

  • Do leaders spend their time getting individuals back on track instead of laying the groundwork for them to be successful?
  • Are your leaders missing opportunities to expand the capabilities of their work group?
  • Do leaders tell people what to do rather than encourage involvement and build commitment?
